Android Phones:
Increase Productivity!

We all know that a smart phone is invaluable in a business environment.  No longer are we tied to our desks in order to make calls, send emails, or view files.  iSpeed wants to let you know our opinion on which smartphone platform works the best.

iSpeed Solutions has been testing out the new Android smart phone platform for the past 6 months.  We are happy to announce that we are exceptionally pleased with the Android.  We've tested several different smartphone platforms, including Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and iPhones. While all platforms are useful, Androids seem to integrate most easily into a business environment. 
 

• Sync multiple Microsoft Exchange Email accounts. You can keep your personal email separate from your business email.  Even better, you can add as many email accounts as you wish. 
• Sync multiple Mailbox Calendars. No need to mix business with pleasure - keep your personal appointments separate from your business appointments.
• Sync multiple Contacts.  You can keep personal contacts separate from business contacts.  You can categorize your contact lists so that they make the most sense to you.  I have my personal contacts in lists such as "Family", "Friends", "Doctors / Vets", etc.  You can do the same with your business contacts by separating Business Owners from employees.
• Turn your Phone into a Wi-Fi hotspotwith Android version 2.2. Use your laptop anywhere you receive a mobile phone signal. You are not limited to Starbucks or other Wi-Fi spots.  Hum, conducting business in a lush outdoor park ... sounds good to me.
• With a VoIP phone at your office you can receive your Business Phone voicemail on your mobile phone so that you can return call promptly.
• Built in GPS Navigation system.  You don't need to purchase a separate Garmin, Tom Tom or Magellan.
•  Works great with Microsoft Small Business Server.  It’s just like having your network laptop or desktop with you all the time.

Online/Off-Site Data Backup

Many of iSpeed's Business owners have been asking about Online Data backup.  We listened and began our research process earlier in 2010.  After many months of investigation and experimentation, we have found the best option for business class online data backup. We branded it the

"iSpeed Sync."

Why should you backup your data online when you are already using a backup hard drive?  Unfortunately, one of our clients had a server crash just before Thanksgiving.  It was the motherboard.  We could have ordered the new part which would have taken several days.  (Can you imagine being without your server for days?)  Instead, we installed and configured their hard drive into another server.  This process took about 2 days.  If this client had had an online backup system, we could have accessed the server in a virtual environment within hours instead of days.

Although a backup hard drive is imperative to protecting your data, you should always have a second line of defense in case of a disaster.  As we all know, hardware is not 100% reliable.  Storing your data in a second, offsite location is a great way to make sure it's safe, no matter what.  Compliment your current backup hard drive with the online / offsite data backup.
